Director's Office:
The Office of the Director of Student Support Services oversees the following departments:
the Centre for Students with Disabilities, Counselling Services, Health Services, the Mamidosewin Centre, Residence Life,
Student Affairs and Orientation, Student Employment Services, and Test Centre. The Director is also the liaison with student
government and the Ombudsperson. Student Support Services are designed to help individuals get into the right program;
to promote student success and retention; and to assist graduates find relevant jobs in their chosen field.
Centre for Students with Disabilities:
Established in 1989, the Centre for Students with Disabilities follows guiding principles from the Canadian Charter of
Rights and Freedom and the Ontario Human Rights Code to provide academic support services to students with disabilities who
apply to or attend Algonquin College.
Counselling Services:
Counselling Services provides registered Algonquin College students with individual career
counselling, academic-related difficulties, personal issues, educational and career resources,
study skills seminars as well as other services. Learn more by exploring the Counselling Services website!
Health Services:
Health Services provides friendly and experienced nurses and doctors on campus to provide primary
health care and answer students’ health questions. All Algonquin College students are welcome to use Health
Services during office hours.
Mamidosewin Centre:
The Mamidosewin Aboriginal Students' Centre provides a warm, supportive and welcoming environment.
There are opportunities for career, academic and personal counselling, as well as traditional and cultural gatherings.
The Centre also offers the opportunity for traditional healing, meetings with elders, social gathers and educational workshops.

Ombudsperson:
Algonquin College students and all applicants are eligible for assistance from the OMBUDSperson
in finding a solution to any problems they may encounter with the College or the Students’ Association.
The OMBUDSperson is independent and impartial, and has effective access to both College and Students’ Association officials.
Residence Life:
Residence Life is located in the Student Life lobby in the Residence. The Manager of Residence Life acts as a referral
for you if you have any questions about the College or feel you need some
help with academics, health, and personal growth. The Residence Life Office is also the home of the Algonquin Residence Council.
Student Affairs and Orientation:
Student Affairs and Orientation provides students with valuable information regarding what to expect
of college life and services offered by Algonquin College. We would like to welcome all students to Algonquin
College and help you explore opportunities and resources you need to gear up for this journey.
Student Employment Services:
Algonquin College Student Employment Services helps students with the job search process and connects employers to qualified candidates.
Student Employment Services staff also assist students and graduates with résumé writing, interview preparation,
researching company information and job search strategies.
Test Centre:
The Algonquin College Test Centre provides professional testing services to academic departments
that have identified the need for testing of candidates to their program. Admissions testing is divided into two main areas:
"College Eligibility" and "Program Eligibility".
