Wilderness Survival Course to Start - Feb. 7, 2012
Fred Blackstein has been a keen outdoor enthusiast for over 40 years and has taught Wilderness Survival to over 1,000 people including police officers, paramedics, and search and rescue teams. He will be teaching a 12-hour Wilderness Survival course in support of the new Pembroke Campus Capital Campaign. Participants will learn a variety of practical skills such as navigating with map and compass, starting a fire in inclement weather, treating hypothermia, making emergency shelters, purifying water, and much more.
The course runs every Tuesday in February, starting on February 7th

Pembroke Campus Offers Pre-Apprenticeship Carpentry
This 6-month program is geared towards rural youth, 30 years and under,
particularly women and Aboriginal students. It offers

Sod Turning Ceremony Signals Start of Construction
On Wednesday, May 18, 2011, Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley, with close to 400 community members in attendance, turned sod to signal the start of construction of their new Pembroke Campus in downtown Pembroke!
