• FREE Chemistry Pre-Requisite for BScN Program
  
  This winter, Grade 12 University Prep Chemistry will be offered to students who need it as a prerequisite (minimum of 65% required) for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Program at Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley.  Click on the above link for details.
  
  This course is being offered free of charge by the Renfrew County District School Board in conjunction with Algonquin College. Course is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays and begins February 28th.  Interested students MUST REGISTER IMMEDIATELY.

• Wilderness Survival Course to Start - Feb. 7, 2012

  Fred Blackstein has been a keen outdoor enthusiast for over 40 years and has taught Wilderness Survival to over 1,000 people including police officers, paramedics, and search and rescue teams.  He will be teaching a 12-hour Wilderness Survival course in support of the new Pembroke Campus Capital Campaign.  Participants will learn a variety of practical skills such as navigating with map and compass, starting a fire in inclement weather, treating hypothermia, making emergency shelters, purifying water, and much more. 
  
  

  The course runs every Tuesday in February, starting on February 7th

• March Break Open House - Saturday, March 10

• Pembroke Campus Offers Pre-Apprenticeship Carpentry

  This 6-month program is geared towards rural youth, 30 years and under, particularly women and Aboriginal students.  It offers free tuition, books, tools and other learning materials to successful applicants who live in Ontario.  For more information, contact Kim Drake at 613-735-4700, ext. 2751.

Sod Turning Ceremony Signals Start of Construction
