About Us

Algonquin College is one of the largest publicly funded colleges in Ontario.  Its main campus is located on Woodroffe Avenue in Ottawa, but it also has smaller campuses in Pembroke and Perth.

Algonquin College Community Employment Services is located at 141 Lake Street in Pembroke.  The organization was formally known as Job Connect, which was a program that had focussed on supporting youth under the age of 25 with securing employment.  Prior to delivering the Job Connect program, Algonquin College administered the Futures program that also supported youth by helping them through an employment preparation program that required them to be in school as well as in the workplace.  For more than two decades, Algonquin College has been a partner with the Government of Ontario in delivering employment services to Ontario residents.

The new Community Employment Services program is part of the Employment Ontario network which includes hundreds of employment service providers across the province.  The new program is available to all Ontario residents, regardless of their age, and offers many services that can support individuals who are looking for work, thinking about returning to school, or need other community services that support their short- and long-term employment goals.
