Continuous Job Postings for summer placements begin January 24th beginning Jan 24th

Co-op students are required to visit www.placeprocanada.com, log in and create and maintain their student profile.

For new students, job postings will be available on PlacePro after you have uploaded a cover letter, resume, including a 3rd page with a list of courses and marks earned.  Resumes will be reviewed on January 23rd.  Jobs will be posted beginning on January 24th and continue throughout the term.  Be sure to check PlacePro and your Algonquin email every day.

For returning students, update resume and marks on PlacePro, contact Jennifer at jarvisj@algonquincollege.com or David at halld2@algonquincollege.com to ask to be released.

Job postings will be open for at least three days but it is in the best interest of the student to check the postings daily.

Apply to jobs, choose which documents you wish to submit to the employer and check back often to see if you have been invited for an interview. If you have been selected for an interview, indicate your "acceptance" under "Invitation" on PlacePro. Instructions to use PlacePro are included in Module 5 on Blackboard.

Check your Algonquin email address daily.  Please contact the Algonquin IT department if you cannot access your Algonquin email.

Students who do not respond to emails promptly may risk the possibility of having access to view jobs suspended until contact with the Co-op Office resumes.

Contact the Co-op Office if you would like additional assistance in preparing cover letters or if you would like to arrange for a mock interview.
Job offers are emailed - check your Algonquin email often.

Work Term Report

Report Approval by Employer

Final Evaluation Of Student

Learning Plan

Your faculty advisor has asked that you create an “Executive Summary (ES)” with your report to be included following the "Table of Contents". The ES should be no longer than 300 words and will cover the work you've done while on placement, how it relates to the program knowledge you've gained so far, and a brief summary of what knowledge/skills you were missing or see as missing from your program that you needed or would have been useful during this work-term. The ES should therefore focus primarily on your own assessment of your progress and recommendations and conclusions about that work- term, for the company/department, and for the employers and future co-op students.

Your work term report must be submitted electronically. Visit Blackboard and click on your co-op work term course number (listed below)and submit the work term report as you would any other academic assignment. No faxes or paper copies will be accepted.
