Round-2, Student Continuous Co-op Recruitment Process

Algonquin has revised it's ROUND 2 process to a "CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT PROCESS". We are confident that this "new" and efficient process will FACILITATE and EXPEDITE the recruitment and placement of our talented, skilled and motivated Co-op students.

Our "Continuous Recruitment Process" provides employers the opportunity to post Co-op Jobs at anytime during ROUND 2 enabling students to review and apply to jobs on a daily basis.

To recruit during our ROUND 2 Continuous Recruitment Process employers follow these easy steps:

send us a copy of posting;

postings are advertised for a two (2) day duration;
resumes sent to employers "electronically" (MS Word);
employers select candidates;
conduct interviews: on-campus (preferred), telephone or on-site;
Following the interviews, employers wishing to extend "JOB OFFERS" must provide the Co-op Department with their First, Second, Third, etc. choices of suitable candidates.

Students are then given 24 hours to accept or reject an employer's offer. If the First ranked student declines the offer, we will then extend offers to the Second ranked student and so on. Once an offer has been accepted by a student, we will confirm the "Matching" to both the student and the employer in writing (e-mail).

Some positions may require a "PERSONNEL SECURITY ASSESSMENT". Therefore, students who accept and are matched to any such position fully understand accept the RISKS associated with accepting an employer's offer of employment. RISKS may include: loss of their Co-op status and work term opportunity should the employer be unable to complete the "PERSONNEL SECURITY ASSESSMENT" prior to the start date of the work term.

All matching results are "CONDITIONAL OFFERS" until an official letter-of-offer is signed by both the student and employer.
