Debbie Robinson’s roles in the community have included member, and later President, of the Board of the Pembroke and District Association for Community Living, member of the Ontario Association for Community Living, and member of the Board of Directors of Renfrew County Family and Children’s Services.

She is currently a member of the Salvation Army’s Community Advisory Committee, a member of the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Public Relations Committee, the representative  for municipality of Laurentian Valley on the Upper Ottawa Valley Medical Recruitment Committee which she chairs, a volunteer advocate for families with children who have disabilities, and a Councillor for Laurentian Valley Township. Debbie holds a Print Journalism diploma from Canadore College and has worked as the Assistant News Editor at the Pembroke Daily Observer since 2000 until recently when she became the editor of The Cobden Sun.

Debbie was appointed to the Board in 2010 for a three-year term.
