| Biography |
Kent is the Vice President, Academic at Algonquin College and is responsible for providing academic and organizational leadership for over 750 full—time faculty and staff who deliver and support over 140 full-time programs to Algonquin students. Within the Academic Area, courses and programs are delivered through 10 diverse academic schools which are located on three campuses in Eastern Ontario. As a member of the President's Executive Committee, he also leads a number of College-wide efforts including the 2010 Strategic Programs and Service Planning project to position Algonquin College for success in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Kent also sits on Provincial and National committees and makes himself available to a variety of relevant groups and organizations to discuss issues and present thoughts related to the future of higher education. Leadership and Responsibilities: Prior to being appointed Vice President, Academic, Kent held a variety of leadership positions in the public and private sectors. Research and Interest: Areas of research and interest include effective teaching and leadership in postsecondary environments, postsecondary and corporate strategy, the future of higher education (post secondary), system dynamics and innovation. |
